That’s right. Step right up and watch a man entrance and lure fireflies right to his iPhone.

StoneGears Launches Itself Out Cannon
Thursday, June 18th, 2009After a decade of preparing, whether we knew it or not, the culmination of experiences, skill sets, and expertise of this small group of talented artist-nerds has led us to this point. A mashup of interests and individuals, our goal is to use technology to bring new ideas and services to market from a fresh and hopefully weird perspective.
Keston Helfrich of Fauxmachine and Chris Harvan of Skipstones Media are the primary operators, but there are a host of other associates who are called up for collaboration. More StoneGears’ driven web and software based projects to be announced soon.
Some Dinnerware Brings Me To Tears
Friday, June 12th, 2009If you recognize the location and the plate, you would understand!
Bawled on my way up The Hill to get here. For all the stress I have been under, for all I have been putting my wife through, because this place feels strangely like home, and especially because this is Hazel’s “point of origen” – as it were. Last summer will NEVER be recreated. Makes me kind of sad, especially now because our lives have changed so drastically. There will be new adventures to come, but “Hotdog Tooth” is never coming back.
Two Wagon Cancer
Friday, June 12th, 2009Cheney! As in “Newman!”
Thursday, May 21st, 2009Why does this man still have a voice in the media and American politics while GW remains silent?
Both telling and so damn annoying!
He is no longer getting intelligence breifings, my fearful zenophobic patriots! How does HE know that one of the affects of closing Gitmo will put a “terrist” on my patio lawn furniture?! Or is he just referring to more of his own brand of make believe intelligence?
Somebody serve up this uber tool a very fresh, cold, sparkling can of STFU!!! Go to bed already, Dick!
Testing iPhone WP
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009Haircut Utensils
Wednesday, June 25th, 2008If a hairstylist draws blood while doing your ‘do’, shouldn’t the haircut be free?
My girl is a too nice and far too good a haircutter to have complained or reported her to her superiors, but what gives? At least toss in some free product for having gnawed on my ear with the clippers because you were tired from partying last night.
Just how clean are those haircutting utensils anyway. Should I cauterize my ear now? When she razorcuts the back, should I be concerned about whom else she has razorcut? I know for sure those utensils are not cleaned between patients.. er, clients. Have never heard about someone getting an STD from a salon, but shouldn’t somebody be more concerned about this besides me? Someone with a government agency? Wait. I am a libertarian. Let me rephrase.
If salons took extra pride in keeping their tools clean, wouldn’t that be a great marketing angle?
“Every blade hits an autoclave after every customer, or at least a dogs mouth if one is around.”
Ugh. Yes, I blog now too.
Friday, March 7th, 2008Had to happen.
Reason 1: Skinning Content Management Systems (CMS) is part of my repertoire within my web development practice, Skipstones Media. Already have a handle on the Nucleus CMS so the next logical step seemed to be Word Press. So far, I have to admit, WP is pretty impressive and I haven’t done anything beyond install it and start this post. Seems like a complete novice might even be able to make it work. (Will report back later once a more solid opinion has been formed.)(A skinning is in order here, but with as busy as I am with client work, who knows when it will happen.)
Reason 2: I still make stuff with my hands even though I mouse around for a living. Wanted a venue for sharing those projects.
Reason3: Writing is always going on in my head – as well as song being played for every occasion. In other words, I am always thinking hard about stuff and incidentally/accidentally putting it to music. Maybe putting some of those thoughts down would help me do something about the ideas.
