Tech For Less
Tuesday, January 27th, 2009Another team project headed up and designed by a third party. Involved some great people within TFL and the expertise of Fauxmachine – another project partner of Skipstones.
Skipstones provided the original XHTML/CSS files and then worked with the various partners to implement, tweak, and muscle the project together. Multiple menu types, some fun javascript, a single page cart, and a client demand for perfection made this a superior project.

K&H Pet Manufacturing
Tuesday, January 27th, 2009Skipstones Media implemented the skin provided by a third party (they also headed up the project). The geniuses at Splish provided back–end and other various support services.
Modifying an existing skin of a CMS is great way to get high end technology at more reasonable costs. There are caveats, of course, but the level of functionality in the Magento Commerce package used would have cost this client close to six figures if they had opted to have this developed from scratch as a custom solution. This heavily tweaked implementation of Magento allows only logged in users to purchase – effectively creating a method for their wholesale buyers to purchase and catalog only for regular users.

Horizons For Youth
Tuesday, January 27th, 2009Worked with a third party. on this Chicago non–profit’s site. Skipstones provided WHQ with project and design consultation, XHTML/CSS template creation, and content production. Currently working on implementing Contribute CMS for them:

Spikeball
Tuesday, May 27th, 2008Just completed a website for these guys with my friend/business partner, Jason Eplawy of World Headquarters. Launch only had time/budget for a partial WordPress integration for their blog. As sales ramp up, it will hopefully support a full, seemless integration of WP and Magento Ecomm.
Hoping (hint, hint Mr. Ruder) that they will float me a set so I can be their Cleveland sales force/promoter.
Either way, wishing them tons of success and luck!
You wanted THIS?

You can design and build something like this for somebody:
Maui Sands – tactful, fast loading, lean but handsome – right? (all links are dead as the hull of the page is being hosted by me).
and then find out that they choose something like this instead:
This is SUCH a fantastic case of how NOT to build a website that I don’t care that I might pump any traffic their way. Truthfully, I wish them the best of luck. They are going to need it.
Client, if you’re out there. I am still willing to provide you the website I designed and built you.
